Welcome to the Ashville Open Stage The Ashville Open Stage is held every Thursday evening at
Papa Joe’s. 20 Cromley St Ashville, OH 43103 740-983-6100
Sign up is from 6pm and we start at 7pm
Ashville is just off Rt 23 south of Columbus Ohio.
We are not normal. (So I have been told)

We are a friendly bunch of people who enjoy music and other folk arts. You are most welcome to join us as a performer, or as a member of the audience.

John Locke: is your host. An Englishman who lives in Columbus and has been involved in the Folk scene since the early 70s. His aim as host is to make it fun and to involve everyone in the evenings events. Contact him for more information.

Your Sound Man
Dave Rainey: Also know as Mr Ashville, the maestro of the sound board and the man with a quick quip. Dave is a well respected musician in his own right. With his two daughters Jen and Megan the trio are called The Rainey's, Dave is not known to be original.
He is also know for his long time involvement with the jazz group Sweet Sixteen. Dave's little fingers across the sound board will bring delight to your ears. (OK so I exaggerate).
Your Stage Manager
Dick Plunk: A singer song writer who is always there to lend a hand at the end of the evening to get the sound equipment away. Dick is the reason for the quote on the Ashville Open Mic Tee Shirt. "If you have not been to Ashville Open Mic you do not know Dick."
Your Video Producer
Tom the Ukulele Man: Tom is on hand most weeks to record your performance if you desire and to insert it on YouTube. go to YouTube and insert EnglishmanJohn (all one word) in the search box and the video's will come up. Tom is a well known singer song writer who performs solo, as a duo with Ty and with His Prodigal Sons.

Shanon: The Manager of Papa Joe's. She turns over the top room at Papa Joe's just for us on Thursday nights and is full of encouragement.
CJ: Our very own server. What can be said about CJ that would capture this young ladies value to Papa Joe's. She is so respected and liked by the regulars and visitors that Jeff Hartley wrote a song about her.
Shanon: Who is also the down stairs guru who tends the bar and can not resist sneaking up to have a look at who is performing.
